Ferrara is a breath-taking town in the northern Italy that has been designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The massive Este Castle is iconic of Ferrara. The Cathedral of Saint George, consecrated in 1135, is one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture, and the extraordinary Palazzo dei Diamanti and Palazzo Schifanoia are unlosable too.
From the 17th until the 26th of August, the "Ferrara Buskers Festival" is going to invade the town. This festival is the most important international event based on street music in Italy and has also become the most impressive world event of its kind with more than 100 shows every day.
Ferrara is the perfect place for a thousand artists coming from more than 30 different nations; this event will also include 20 invited bands that will be the absolute protagonists, while about 300 credited artists – dancer, jugglers, and many very original performers - will accompany them during a 10-days long magic.
The buskers who will animate the historical centre of the Este city and the itinerant stages foreseen for the On Tour Festival - like the towns of Mantova, Comacchio and Lugo – will give you the possibility to live a musical journey.
Furthermore, Ferrara Buskers Festival dedicates each edition of every year to one Guest City, which has to represent the soul of a place that valorises the street culture. This year it’s the turn of Dublin.
So, discover this crazy world rich of creativity, inspirations and joyful atmosphere.
